Masnoon Duʿāʾ
Daily supplications from the Sunnah — with meaning and practice.
Masnoon duʿāʾ are supplications the Prophet ﷺ taught for everyday moments: waking, eating, traveling, fear, and gratitude. Learning them connects your day to his example.
Morning & evening
The morning and evening adhkār are a spiritual shield.
- Upon waking: Alḥamdulillāh alladhī aḥyānā…
- Before sleep: Āyat al-Kursī, last two āyahs of Al-Baqarah, Al-Ikhlāṣ/Falaq/Nās
- Morning/evening: Sayḥah (fortress) adhkār — see Duʿāʾ hub
Eating, travel & entering home
Short duʿāʾ for actions you already do daily.
- Before eating: Bismillāh; if forgotten: Bismillāh fī awwalihi wa ākhirihi
- Leaving home: Bismillāh, tawakkaltu ʿalallāh…
- Entering home: Bismillāh walajnā wa bismillāh kharajnā…
- Traveling: Subḥānalladhī sakhkhara lanā hādhā…
How to learn them
Pick one duʿāʾ per week. Read Arabic, translation, and use audio. Stick a note on the mirror or fridge until it becomes automatic.
Practical tips
- Raise your hands, face the qiblah if easy, and mean what you say.
- Duʿāʾ after obligatory prayer is especially likely to be answered.
- Memorize Arabic gradually — meaning in your language helps retention.
