Techno Functional Document (TFD) — overview
High-level technical and functional framing for the global e-commerce platform (auction, buy, sell, exchange, investment hooks). Detailed UI and module checklists live in the Detail request spec and Live platform requirements.
Introduction and purpose
This document class outlines functional requirements mapped to technical delivery: module-by-module, user-facing and admin-facing behavior, and systems used to complete and launch the project.
Scope
Scope is limited to agreed functional detail; deviations on function, system, or platform are corrected to match the approved specification set (TFD, related exhibits, and MoU where applicable).
Methodology
- UI first: interface design completed and approved before parallel drift with core development.
- Approach the project in parts with UI sign-off per app/site surface, then begin implementation.
- User requirement: admin panel highly organized and manageable; full public website feature set as specified.
Admin panel (TFD summary)
User, vendor, categories, products, banners and marketing, auction, bid, Save a Life, orders, stock, reports, settings; full control to view/modify/delete; alerts.
End user (TFD summary)
Login, registration, auction and bidding/deal flows, product and category browsing, product detail, place order, order status, payment, order history, invite, rate/review, settings.
Interface and environment
- Browsers: modern Chrome, Firefox, Edge; legacy IE called out in source—prefer evergreen targets in new work.
- Hardware: laptop/PC, tablets, phones (Android and iPhone).
- Software interfaces: payment gateway, logistics, SMS.
- Communications: email, chat, and agreed meeting channels for project coordination.
- Operations: cloud hosting and storage; hierarchical access with super-admin at top.
Security and privacy
- Data loss/corruption: backups to limit loss to recovery window.
- Protect secrets, privileged personal data, and guard against malware.
- Firewall, passwords, hierarchical access; modify/delete sensitive functions restricted to administrators/super-admin.
- SSL/TLS for the public site.
Availability and retention
- Target system availability: 24/7 with high uptime objective (e.g. 99.5% per original TFD).
- Data retention and backup period as agreed operationally (source cited multi-year retention with backups).
